Joanna - Ah.. beginner's luck (and a fab recipe from River Cottage!) Three months into making my own bread and this was my first white flour bread. I guess when I first used to make bread it was the worthy wholemeal house brick variety - still tasty but, well... chewy. White bread has always had memories of the Chorleywood variety, but sourdough is a different beast altogether.
I am planning to work my way through "Bethesdabasics" and will be happy if I get similar results.
Mangocheeks - if your foccacia is topped with wild garlic I shall be jealous....!
Joanne - Thank you for stopping by - and another bread site to investigate... lovely!
Woo hoo ! You're good! If that's your first sourdough I can't wait to see what you make in a couple of weeks time ;)
ReplyDeleteLooks fantastic.
ReplyDeleteI'm having a go at making foccacia this week, its supposed to be one of the easiest breads to make by hand - lets see.
Wow, that is an awesome loaf for your first time! Looks simply mouthwatering!
